Seeing Red...Literally!

I'm so thankful for Twitter and Facebook and the industry professionals who posted pictures from New York City's Bridal Market showcasing the newest trends for Spring 2013.  Well I was completely overwhelmed by the vibrant colors and textures that the designers were using.  But the color that caught my eye...my favorite color...RED...truly caught my eye!  Tell me what you think.  Would you wear red on your wedding day?

What To Do With Dress Scraps?

I have had brides that go through dramatic weight loss or have ordered a larger wedding gown. Then when it comes to alterations, they find the seamstress cutting away handfuls of their gorgeous wedding gown. Don't allow the bridal salon or tailor to keep your wedding gown "scraps"! They are yours...you've paid for them...and can sometimes use those scraps within your wedding decor. Take a look:

Handle to your bridal bouquet
Tie, vest and/or pocket square for the groom
Purse or money/card bag
Accent your guest book

Don't let pieces of your gown go to the scrap pile cemetery, do something with them if you can.

It's A Wedding Emergency!

When you hire a wedding coordinator, such as my company, to service your wedding day, they should come equipped with an emergency kit that could rebuild a city if necessary!  But as a bride, you should also think of some particular items she should have a in a cute tote bag, old school lunch box or large make-up bag. (excerpts from WEDology  Notebook: For The Budget-Chic Bride)
  • Make-up, especially lip gloss, press powder and mascara
  • Hand lotion
  • Band aids
  • Dental floss, tooth brush and a small tube of tooth paste
  • Perfume
  • Needle and thread, safety pins
  • Comb, brush and hair pins
  • Tampons and/or panty liners
  • Clear deodorant
  • Eye drops and contact solution, if applicable
  • Stain remover wipes
  • Tissue
  • Aspirin
  • List of all bridal party members and vendors contact numbers

And why not be a thoughtful bride-to-be and prepare your husband-to-be a little kit with some of the, if not all of the items listed below:
  • Deodorant
  • Lint brush
  • Extra pair of socks
  • Breath mints
  • Comb and brush, hair products
  • Razor and a small shaving cream

Planning ahead and creating an emergency kit could save you from the smallest mishap growing into something out of control.

For The Love of Chandeliers

I just finished a stylized photo shoot using chandeliers and I was so overwhelmed with their physical beauty and how they put the icing on the cake of this shoot!  I just couldn't resist doing a post on these crystal beauties and how you can incorporate them into your wedding design.  Chandeliers can certainly add a sophisticated, elegant and/or vintage feel to any environment.

Chandelier earrings could add that finishing touch to any bridal gown
For a chandelier-themed wedding, adding the look to the invitation, program
and guest favor would be a great way to tie the sophisticated design all together
What a stunning chandelier to have in the middle of a ballroom space
I love the idea of incorporating chandeliers above this dessert station
Chandeliers make these brick walls talk!
I love the shape of these gorgeous chandeliers!
And, who said chandeliers had to made from crystals?
