The First Touch Before The Ceremony

Many modern, non-traditional couples are having a "First Look" before the wedding ceremony.  This is when the couple decides to see one another a few hours for the wedding and the photographer is there to capture the memorable scene.  Then it allows for the couple, their wedding party and family to take pictures prior to the ceremony so they all can enjoy the cocktail hour.  But what can a more traditional couple do?

The "First Touch" is a spin on the First Look.  This must be strategically planned because the premise behind the touch is not to see one another, but to have a brief conversation and/or say a prayer together before the ceremony.  With careful planning of the wedding coordinator, photographer and a door or wall to separate the couple, the moment can be even more meaningful because the element of surprise will still exist when the ceremony begins.

Groomsmen Sock Game

When considering the options for the groom and groomsmen, there isn't a whole bunch you can do with a rented tuxedo outside of a distinctive boutonniere, vest, bow tie and/or tie.  But let me retract that statement and say...there is one more fun thing the groom can do to stand out on his wedding day.

Socks play an important roll for the groom and his men on wedding day.  In order to wear those shiny shoes, or whichever style is selected, it's imperative that men wear socks!  Now consider spicing them up  with prints, words or a distinctive color for this once in a lifetime day!

The Groom. The Super Hero.

I'm loving one of the newest trends of the groom and groomsmen having a "super hero" moment!  See, it doesn't always have to be about the bride! LOL!

Super hero cuff links based on the attendants personality...

...And the matching super hero t-shirt!

Introducing the Reception

The introductions into your reception are what set the tone for your wedding guests!  Make sure to acknowledge those who played a role during the wedding ceremony such as grandparents, officiant, hostesses, ushers/escorts and any other key players by asking them to stand.  Then set the mood for the entrance of parents, wedding party and the newly married couple by dimming the lights and playing some fun upbeat music.  Tell the wedding party to shake it up and dance a little as they make their way to the dance floor.  And once it's time for you to enter, have the MC ask the guest to stand and clap in celebration.

Then ave fun with with.  Take a bow and enjoy yourself as you make your first entrance as Husband and Wife!
