Wedding Weekend Fun!

The days of one celebration for a wedding are long gone.  Most couples find themselves planning and attending several activities over the wedding weekend.  From a welcome party to rehearsal dinner or even a tour of the city, putting together an itinerary of all activities will keep guests informed of times, dates and locations.  Plus they make a nice accent to welcome bags

Take a look at a few varieties of wedding weekend itineraries and what should be included:

The addition of fun icons with brief text, makes this wedding itinerary
signature and extremely easy to read and understand.
  It's compact size makes it
easy to punch, attach ribbon and tie to the handle of your welcome bags.
This detailed, booklet-style wedding weekend itinerary includes everything
from activities to transportation options.  Also note that the websites are
included to make "registration" easy for the guests.

This would make a wonderful addition to your wedding invitation suite.
A more detailed, one-page itinerary to include hotel accommodations,
plus a map noting the various locations for activities.
This could be tied with some
nice ribbon or raffia and placed into the welcome bags.

More Than Just Wedding Photography

After you have selected and hired your wedding photographer, don't just stop there! Think of using their services for additional projects that could only enhance your wedding experience.

Engagement session - These are some GREAT photos to add to your wedding collection. This session will allow you and your groom to show your playful side on camera in conjunction with the love you share for one another. Plus, it's an added advantage for your photographer to get familiar with your body language so that he can capture only the best photos of you and your husband on wedding day.

Boudoir Session - Tell me what groom would not like to see an album of sexy photographs (for his viewing pleasure only) of his bride-to-be?!?! Select a photographer you feel comfortable with and allow them to capture some shots of you in lingerie or your groom's favorite shirt. You will feel so sensual and pretty!

Rehearsal Dinner Coverage - Your photographer can attend this intimate, casual affair and capture photographs of your interactions with family and friends, especially those that have traveled for your wedding.

Day-After Sessions - These sessions take place after the wedding, of course, and will allow you and your husband to take more artistic shoots and not be confined to the hours allowed during the reception while you are trying to greet guests.  One the newest trends are the "Morning-After" shots that can range from steamy and sexy to playful and cute.  And if you haven't heard about it, bride's are doing "Trash The Dress" sessions where you may decide to jump in a pool, mud or play in the dirt while wearing your expensive wedding gown. I don't really know how conventional that is, but hey...thought I'd put it out there.

Binding Your Wedding Memories

So the question of today is - what do I do with all these wedding cards once I've removed the checks and cash???  Your spouse will probably say, "Toss them", but you are thinking, "But I want to keep some of them."  Either this scenario is playing out in reality as you read this post or this conversation will surely happen once you return from the honeymoon.  Well check out this cool and easy idea that will allow you to keep those pretty little wedding cards.

All you need are 2-3 binder rings, a hole punch and ribbon to tie the "booklet" shut.  And there you have it...a keepsake that will take up very little space, but allow you to thumb through your wedding cards year, after year, after year!  This idea would also work fabulously for cards you receive from engagement parties, bridal and/or couple showers and rehearsal dinners.

Wedding Rehearsal To-Do List

Typically the wedding rehearsal will happen a day or two before the wedding day.  Below I've listed a simplified to-do list for the practice of your wedding nuptials.
  1. Bring your wedding day items/props to the rehearsal.  Items such as the ring pillow, flower basket, guest book w/ pen, card book, etc. can be left at the ceremony site so that you won't forget them on wedding day. Or give them to your wedding planner...I know she or he will bring them and set them up for you on wedding day :)
  2. Have everyone in the bridal party take a tour of the venue and specifically note the changing rooms and restrooms.
  3. Plan to run through your processional and recessional at least 2 times to ensure that everyone is aware of their cues.
  4. Let the officiant you hire do their job.  You have spoken with them during the planning process.  Now allow them to facilitate the rehearsal as they'll be the one in charge on wedding day.
  5. Rehearsals shouldn't take any longer than one hour.  If you have tardy members in your party, tell them the rehearsal will begin 30 minutes before it actually will :)

Then once you have rehearsed and got it down pat...go off to your rehearsal dinner and celebrate!
