...I Found It, You Pin It...Friday!

I had the opportunity to visit the Wedding Galleries at The Special Events show in downtown Chicago this week. I was amazed by all four designs and how different they were compared to one another.  Each focused on a different style of wedding and appealed to all the senses.  But my favorite was from Chicago based firm Kehoe Designs and OMG was it amazing!  Every detail of their ivory, noir and gold design was flawless!  But what truly caught my eye was the sexy, stunning, amazing bar! WOW FACTOR on steroids!

...I Found It, You Pin It...Friday

I found this amazingness on Pinterest in my quest to find this week's Pin It Pic.  What caught my eye wasn't the amazing crystals hanging from the mirrored tiles or the low centerpieces flanked by gorgeous candlelight.  Nope, what caught my eye was the STUNNING pink up lighting give the room such a luscious glow! I'm all about adding lighting to any event because it can transform any space from drab to fab, also know as...WOW FACTOR! Enjoy!

...I Found It, You Pin It...Friday!

The focus today isn't 100% about the gorgeous pink ombre' cake with Dahlia accent.  It's not solely about how the cake rests on stunning vases showcasing candles and bling. The focus isn't even the staircase of floating candle vases alongside that gorgeous structured piece of art.  But today's Pin it Pic is about the entire picture and how all the elements work together!  The photograph is a piece of glamorous art and I love it!!! Enjoy!

Those Tall Slender Candles (Day#6)

Many of today's centerpieces include pillar candles, votive candles, tea light candles and floating candles, but what about the loner...taper candle?  I know with city ordinances about open flames, the taper has become more obscure, but consider the simple idea below.  It would work really well for the bride who does not want a lot of flowers at her reception but a pop of color.

Items Needed:
1 vase
6-8 taper (or roman) candles - white, ivory or colored
colored ribbon
candle wax to use as adhesive

How To:
Bunch the taper candles together and tie with a ribbon tightly.
Add candle wax to the bottom of all taper candles.
Place in vase and light.

Candle Creative for Wedding Day

I love candles...in my home, at an event, and especially at a wedding ceremony and reception!!!But how about we get creative with the use of candles and not just settle for them surrounding centerpieces. Consider candles to flank the aisle of your ceremony or the walkway leading to the cocktails hour. How about candles being used as the sole decor element of your tablescape or the use of whimsical candles to create a conversation piece. Check out the options below:

A Little Holiday Decor

I was given a beautiful floral and evergreen centerpiece from one of my favorite florists, Bob owner of Rosemary's Garden in Tinley Park, Illinois, and the fragrance it has left in the house has finally put me in the holiday spirit. In wanting to think of some festive party and wedding ideas for the season, I found these pretty cool ideas to decorate for the holidays using evergreens...whose tree foliage stays green throughout the year.

Water + Candles

I always get asked by brides what can I do to make my tablescapes look fabulous, but my budget is limited. You can't make a mistake with using candles and water to accent your tables and windows. The drama and romance created from the twinkling candles reflecting off the water can transform any space into a spectacular site. I was just watching "Platinum Weddings" on WEtv and a eco-friendly bride spending almost a half a million on her wedding used soy-based candles, dramatic glass vases, votive candles, glass gems and a sprinking of rose buds per centerpiece. YES! And what makes water and candles such a "WOW factor" ? You can change up the centerpieces easily by using colored glass vases; adding crystal elements or flowers; or even a drop of food coloring to dye the water. The ideas are limitless on the vision you can create using water + candles. Check out the beautiful photos I found on http://www.weddingchannel.com/.
