Day #5 - One Forgotten Bridesmaid Duty

For the Bridesmaid - Time and time again I see it ... A stressed bride because one or many of her bridesmaids are not being supportive through the wedding planning process.  As a bridesmaid, you have the choice to accept this role in the bride's wedding or you can be a guest.  But to cause unnecessary drama during what can already be a stressful time in her life is truly unfair.  In addition to the financial obligations, it should be your goal to help the bride throughout the planning process and on wedding day.

Now for the Bride - Not all your friends have to be in line to be a bridesmaid.  It's okay to give them other roles or to have them seated as an honored guest.  Trust me, you'll thank me later.

On September 26th, the DE Team had the honor of directing a wedding for a fabulous and stylish couple - Kendele and Tony.  Evanston, IL was the city for their wedding nuptials.  The ceremony was held at Alice Millar Chapel located on Northwestern University's campus and the alma mater of the groom.  Then their wedding guests moved two blocks South to one of Evanston's hidden gems, The Crystal Ballroom and Lounge.

Real Wedding: Brittany and Edward

On Sunday, February 8th, the DE Team had the honor of directing a wedding for a lovely couple living in Atlanta, GA.  They wanted their winter wedding reception to be in the Windy City in Chicago's most favorite landmark...the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower) on the 99th floor.  The 360 degree views should have been amazing for their 120 guests, but the overcast told a different story.

We had 11 weeks to bring Brittany and Edward's dream wedding to life with the help of some amazing vendors.  Take a look at their red, black and white wedding:

Moments Before I Do

Photo captured by Rush Productions

That moment when you have time to yourself to reflect on your relationship with your soon-to-be husband...and you realize that the love that has brought you to this very moment is real...as you stand in your dream wedding gown holding a gorgeous bouquet...before you take your last walk as a single woman...you acknowledge that the trials and tribulations you have had with your fiance don't outweigh the good. Today you say, "I Do"!

Congratulations to all the couples that married in 2015!!!

Right Before You Walk (Day #6)

I love being the last person, outside of the bride's escort, that gets to say a few words before she makes her grand entrance and walks down to aisle.  As a planner, I make sure her train and veil are perfectly placed and that her bouquet is positioned near her navel.  Then once the music starts and has played at least 30 seconds (I must create anticipation) I whisper to her,
"Walk when you are ready. He's waiting on you...".

Until tomorrow...WEDologize!

Hanging Up That Gown

The bridal gown is the most photographed garment in the pre-ceremony/detail shots. You'll see photos all over the Internet of the wedding gown positioned over a bed, in a doorway, hanging in a closet, and from a chandelier. You'll see the bridal shoes and accessories in accompanying photos, but have you ever noticed the hanger from which the bridal gown hangs? I mean think about it, doesn't it show up in all of the shots. Don't allow it to be a non-noticeable...allow it to stand out!

Get matching personalized hangers for both the bride and groom
This hanger speaks volumes
What's more perfect than a hanger noting your new name!
What a GREAT gift for you bridesmaids and a perfect keepsake to remember the day
