Pop of Color for the Bouquet (Day #1)

There are a lot brides that want a traditional bridal bouquet in white and ivory-toned flowers, but they still want to add a pop of color.  Consider asking your floral designer to add ribbon or fabric to the handle of your bouquet for that discrete amount of color, but still keeping with the classic look for your bridal bouquet.  Take a look below for a few ideas also featuring some lovely embellishments and unique ties:

Capturing The Wedding Gown

Not only do you want a memorable wedding ceremony and reception, but you also want the hired photographers to capture all of the details from start to finish.  One of the most photographed items of wedding day is the wedding gown...you know that emotional and expensive garment you purchased to walk down the aisle to your soon to-be spouse  Below are some suggestions of moments you should consider having photographed.

Your gown and your bridesmaids gowns hanging

The amazing details
Your bridesmaids zipping or buttoning the wedding gown
Putting on your veil

The gown with your gorgeous bouquet
The wedding gown hanging by itself
The gown hanging on your personalized wedding hanger

Your mom or family member assisting you with the finishing touches

Immediately after you are completely dressed

Cutting Wedding Corner No-No's

I'm 100% aware that a thoughtful wedding budget is crucial to the planning of your special day.  I know as you begin the planning process and truly see the cost of your ideas on Pinterest :) you are going to have to make some tough decisions on what to keep, change and eliminate.  But in this blog, instead of telling you how to save costs within your wedding budget, I'm going to share with you...what not to skimp on:
  1. Your wedding gown.  This is what everyone comes to see...just how beautiful you will look on wedding day.  You don't need to spend a fortune on a couture gown costing as much a 2-3 monthly mortgages, but you do want to spend your money wisely on a gown that makes you feel beautiful.
  2. Your bridal bouquet.  This fragrant accessory is one of the most photographed items on wedding day.  It's practically in every picture with you, plus it gets photographed alone. The bouquet should compliment your wedding gown and not be scaled down.
  3. The food.  This is the one thing the guests will remember and you want to make sure you are serving quality food.  Yes, some courses can be eliminated, but the least expensive option isn't always the best.
  4. The photographer.  He or she is creating your memories in the form of an album with the photographs taken on your wedding day.  A professional photographer knows how to capture the classic photos plus those photos that you never would have thought about.  Don't select your photographer based on the best deal, select the photographer based on what you want your FINAL product to be.
  5. The entertainment.  Outside of food, your wedding guests will remember the overall experience they had during the reception and music plays a large role in this.  Don't skimp on your DJ or band as they are the ones that will keep the party going until the lights come on.  Hire professionals that have worked weddings before, not just a party.

After The Wedding Gown Alterations

I have had brides that go through dramatic weight loss or have ordered a larger wedding gown. Then when it comes to alterations, they find the seamstress cutting away handfuls of their gorgeous wedding gown. Don't allow the bridal salon or tailor to keep your wedding gown "scraps"! They are yours...you've paid for them...and can sometimes use those scraps within your wedding decor. Take a look:

Handle to your bridal bouquet
Tie, vest and/or pocket square for the groom
Purse or money/card bag
Accent your guest book

Don't let pieces of your gown go to the scrap pile cemetery, do something with them if you can.

...I Found It, You Pin It...Friday!

Who said a wedding bouquet had to be created from all flowers?  The vintage brooches + lush pearls + gorgeous pink-toned roses is not only visually stunning, but would add that additional WOW FACTOR to the woman carrying it down the aisle.  Enjoy!
